In our first part of the program, we discuss the definition of an organizational culture and how people go about defining it. We then do a thought-provoking interactive exercise where we define cultures of a few famous companies and try to understand how they created that culture.
Creating an innovation culture
In this part of the program, we talk about creating a culture of innovation and creativity and what the specific elements are of being able to do that. We do this by looking through the lens of several famous innovation companies and then being able to transfer those skills back to our respective organizations.
Leading a culture of innovation
There is no question that one of the key influences in building a culture of innovation is people who are in a leadership role because of the impact they can have on their respective teams. In this section of the program we talk about what leaders can do to lead and create a culture of innovation.
Tools and techniques for building culture
In this segment of the program, we talk about the tools and techniques that can be used for building an innovative culture, and how they can apply to people’s individual teams. This is capped off with an exercise on innovation culture for people to review an Innovation checklist to see which of those items are being done at their company.
Incenting and rewarding
There is an old saying that people only do what you reward them to do. If an organization wants to have a culture of innovation then innovation needs to be incented and rewarded. We provide several tools and techniques for providing incentive for rewarding innovation.
Learning and development
If you want to have a culture of innovation you need to connect to people being able to learn develop and grow. In this part of the program we talk about tools and techniques to help people grow and to help them be more creative and innovative in their daily work.
We wrap up the session by asking each person to create a comprehensive action plan on how they are going to apply what they have learned.
