In today’s business world, everyone needs to be a great communicator. One aspect of communication is getting up in front of a room and conducting presentations. Every time someone gets up in front of a room they have a chance to make a great impression or… a not so great one.

Program Outline

The 4 P’s

We start the program by talking about the four main aspects of presentation effectiveness: reparation, platform skills, presentation tools and packaging. The 4 P’s are then explored in depth during the rest of the program.

What Audiences Want From a Speaker

In this section, we talk about the five qualities that audiences look for in a speaker, and how to go about developing those qualities.


In this module we cover the four key elements of preparation and how to be successful at each one. The four elements are 1) objectives 2) audience 3) structure 4) space. Included are many tools like the
objectives sheet, an audience analysis tool, and other planning tools.

Reducing fear

In this portion of the program, we address the #1 fear of many people, public speaking. We talk about 5 elements of fear and then give participants 6 tangible ways to overcome the fear. Each person then works on a fear reduction action plan.

Platform Skills

When we talk about platform skills, we are talking about the skills of speaking on the “platform” in front of the room. In this part of the program, we cover the 7 aspects of platform skills as relate to the body. We then cover the 9 aspect of platform skills that relate to the voice. After all, you have to look good and sound good to gain credibility as a speaker. We also talk about how to “connect” with an audience.

Presentation Tools

When anyone gives a presentation, they also use tools to deliver their message. In this module we talk about how to use PowerPoint, Charts, Handouts and Microphones. We talk about how to use these tools to make your presentation better, stronger and more effective.

Tips for Success

In this module we talk about 10 key tips for delivering an amazing presentation.


There is a reason why we wrap a gift when we give it to someone. It’s all about perception. People make judgments about presenters based on packaging. There are 5 critical elements to look at that make up your packaging.

Practice presentations

In our final segment, we give the participants a chance to practice everything we have talked about, and then give a chance to get and give feedback on what went well, and what could be improved.

Action Plans

We wrap up the session by asking each person to create a comprehensive action plan on how they are going to apply what they have learned.
